Our players and families have been giving back to help impoverished children around the world play volleyball and other sports.   The Club is partnering with the charity Sports Gift to collect and recycle gently used sports equipment which is distributed to youth programs around the world serving impoverished children.   We’ve collected 215 pieces of Sports Equipment!

Tonga.  The children on the small island of Tonga in the South Pacific love volleyball.  Poverty in this region is experienced differently than other areas, a primary challenge for children in this region is a lack of opportunity.  Children have a high rate of obesity due to a lack of youth sports programs and supplies.  This donation supported educational and youth sports programs being established by Peace Corps volunteers living in the community.

Our girl’s team has also volunteered at Sports Gift cleaning, sorting and preparing the sports equipment.

Sports Gift

The charity Sports Gift collects and recycles sports equipment to provide sports to impoverished children throughout the world and promotes community service and education through sports. 

Sports Gift has distributed over 160,000 pieces of sports equipment to impoverished children all over the world including the United States, Mexico, Central and South America, Indonesia, Africa, Eastern Europe, the Middle East and the South Pacific.
